Your Selleb Sisters spent the past weekend in NYC, trying to avoid the strong UV but to no avail. No amount of sunscreen can fend off those damn rays. Naturally, Chloe carried the Beauty of Joseon sunstick in her bag and sought shelter in the food establishments of NY/NJ…
Which leads us to our obsession with the trusty food rec app Beli (shoutout to Judy and Eliot <3) where you can rank, bookmark, and search restaurants all in one place (and share with friends!). Here’s a quick rundown of 5 places we’ve added for those of you living in (or visiting!) NYC:

Our profile on Beli. This is a sign for us to eat in more lol
Gammeeok (Fort Lee, NJ but there’s also a location in K-Town): Korean food lovers know that some of the best “authentic,” “straight out of grandma’s kitchen” restaurants are in Fort Lee, NJ. This place is known for gomtang, a heartwarming beef bone soup. Throw in their perfectly-ripe radish kimchi, flower salt, and scallion bits and slurp away. Open 24/7… Came here at midnight after our flight. A true delight.
Michaeli Bakery (LES): Tried the samosa bureka and Galil and were underwhelmed. Texture felt like they had been sitting out for a while. They’re known for their babka (didn’t try this), so pls try on our behalf and let us know!
PyeongAnDong (Fort Lee): Fort Lee NJ (AGAIN!) This is now our #1 favorite spot for naengmyeon in the NY area (not too sweet!). If you haven’t tried naengmyeon before, it’s a bowl of icy cold buckwheat noodles in broth. It’s the quintessential Korean summer dish. If you see crushed chunks of ice, you know it’s going to be good. Pro tip: Don’t forget to douse the noodles in (more) vinegar.
Figo il Gelato (Nolita): A perfect pit stop if you’re looking for some respite from the heat. The flavors are simple yet decadent.
Pinch Chinese (Soho): Casual, vibey, and a solid spot in the heart of Soho where you can always get a reservation. Fast service too!
Clockwise from top left: Gammeeok, Michaeli Bakery, PyeongAnDong, Figo il Gelato, Pinch Chinese
